Kennet Vale Table Tennis Club

Table Tennis has a strong tradition at the hall, which goes back many years.

We have Junior Coaching sessions, women and girls coaching, 8 league teams in the Devizes League and several practice nights for both team members and those who just want to play socially.

We have 6 tables in use at the hall and normally have 6-15 people playing on any given night.

Please give Richard a call on 07568 648468 or email him on richard.ramsden@gmail.com .

We are an independent group for textile artists, enthusiasts and learners established to take the place of the Marlborough & District Embroiderers’ Guild (after the national Guild dissolved its branches).  Our members have a wide variety of interests and skills and we are keen to expand the scope of our activities.  We meet on the first Monday of the month with additional days for workshops and online Stitch & Chat sessions.  For details of our programme and to find out more please visit our website.

Members of the community are actively involved in the production of the pantomime from September right through until the end of January.

Without the hall none of these community centred activities would happen.

Kennet Valley C of E Primary School

Kennet Valley School have adopted the Hall for a wide variety of activities. It is a vital resource in our local community, as it allows our children to have a large, safe open space to build their sporting ability, which include teamwork as well as opportunities to play many different sports. As a school we also use it to hold larger events such as a Music concert and an annual nativity play. These are important local events, where the children can show that they are confident young individuals.

Without the hall we would not be able to play the large variety of sports that we currently do, which would mean our children were less prepared for sports competitions and festivals – this would mean that they were also less confident going into their events.

Kennet Valley Amateur Dramatic Society

The Kennet Valley Hall has been the ‘home’ of the community amateur dramatic society since 1981 and a pantomime is performed every year over 4 performances to an audience of around 400 people.

It is a community venture which has local performers from 9yrs old to retired people and it draws heavy from the local primary school for its stars and chorus.

Members of the community are heavily involved in the production of the pantomime from September right through until the end of January.

Without the hall none of these community centred activities would happen.

Alzheimers Support

Holding regular meetings at the Hall for their Muddy Boots and Music for the Mind this is an open and friendly support group for people with Alzheimers and their carers. Please phone 01225 776481 for additional information.

Marlborough Photography

In the course of my general ‘Instagraming’ I’ve come across a fabulous community of welcoming and thoroughly decent photographers – both amateur and professional.

They have all been very kind to my iPhone photographs and very encouraging. Whilst being electronically ’social’ with these people I found about 7 or 8 other photographers who lived very nearby to Marlborough.

There appears to be quite a number of enthusiastic amateur photographers/instagramers in Marlborough and the surrounding area. We also have a good selection of professional photographers.

What I’m looking to create is a collaborative environment, where learning and nurturing is the main focus (excuse the pun, but if you’ve seen my pavement signs at The Food Gallery, you’ll understand)

But if this objective is going to be achieved, this means that the club will need to have people that are excellent at this art already – you!

So, would you be interested in sharing your knowledge?
